Childhood Asthma

Childhood Asthma

Childhood asthma is the most common chronic disease that affects the airways in the lungs. Classic symptoms of asthma include shortness of breath or breathlessness, tightness in the chest, coughing and wheezing.

Although there is no cure for asthma as yet, childhood asthma can be managed effectively. The goals of childhood asthma management are to be free from asthma symptoms and exacerbations, and to be able to lead a normal active life. This can be achieved by accurate diagnosis, appropriate medication(s), regular follow ups and education.
